Private Wealth Legal Director – Leeds
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a STEP-qualified Solicitor to join a highly respected Private Wealth team in Leeds at Director level. This senior appointment is ideally suited to an accomplished Private Client Solicitor or legal executive seeking a strategic leadership role within a progressive and growing law firm.
The Role:
You will oversee a high-value caseload of complex private client matters, many of which involve cross-border and multi-jurisdictional elements.
Your work will include:
*Wills and succession planning
*Inheritance tax and estate planning
*Trust creation and administration
*Probate and estate administration
*Powers of Attorney
Advising high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, including business owners and clients with international interests, you will handle sensitive, high-profile estates that often require advanced technical expertise and a discreet, measured approach.
Alongside your fee-earning responsibilities, you will play a pivotal role in team leadership and strategic development, contributing to wider firm initiatives such as mentoring, training, business planning and service growth.
About You:
You will ideally demonstrate:
*At least 8 years’ PQE in private client work (significant relevant pre-qualification experience may also be considered)
*A strong track record advising HNW/UHNW clients on complex estate and succession matters
*STEP qualification or equivalent expertise
*Experience leading or supervising a private wealth team
*Strong cross-border private client experience (highly desirable)
*Confidence working with professional intermediaries and a proven ability to develop work
*A collaborative, commercially focused mindset with excellent client relationship skills
You will be comfortable managing sensitive family dynamics and high-value estates, including matters with contentious elements. Experience acting as an independent administrator in disputed probate cases would be an advantage.
