The Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks, ensuring all drawings meet quality standards and manufacturing requirements. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to bring concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities:
*Create detailed manufacturing drawings and layouts from 3D models (SolidWorks).
*Develop fabrication and assembly drawings, including Bills of Materials (BOMs).
*Manage BOMs within the company ERP system.
*Maintain up-to-date drawings and parts databases.
*Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs meet client and business needs.
*Adhere to health & safety and quality assurance standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
*Strong background in sheet metal design and steel fabrication.
*Experience as a Design Engineer or Draughtsman within a similar industry.
*Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
*Minimum qualification: National Diploma (or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering).
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
