We are looking for a talented Audio Visual Engineer to join our team and support the installation, programming, and servicing of residential AV systems. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, custom AV solutions for luxury homes, home theatres, smart home automation, and more. You will work directly with clients, architects, interior designers, and contractors to ensure that each system meets our client’s exact specifications and exceeds their expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Installation and Configuration: Install and configure residential AV systems including home theatres, whole-home audio, video distribution, smart home controls, and lighting automation systems
*System Integration: Integrate AV systems with home automation platforms (e.g., Control4, Savant, Crestron, Lutron), ensuring seamless control and user experience.
*Programming & Troubleshooting: Program and calibrate AV equipment to optimise performance, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure high-quality system functionality.
*System Calibration & Testing: Perform in-depth testing and calibration of audio and video equipment to ensure perfect sound, picture quality, and user interface.
*Maintenance & Upgrades: Provide ongoing support and system upgrades, including software updates, troubleshooting, and hardware upgrades.
*Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of installations, including system layouts, wiring diagrams, and client preferences.
*Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other team members to ensure timely and seamless project delivery from inception to completion.
Qualifications:
*Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in residential AV systems, with a strong focus on installation, integration, and troubleshooting.
*Technical Skills: Proficiency in setting up and configuring AV systems, including but not limited to home theatres, multi-room audio, smart home devices, and control systems.
*Programming Experience: Familiarity with residential AV programming platforms (e.g., Crestron, Control4, Savant, RTI).
*Certifications: AVIXA (CTS) certification or other relevant certifications preferred. Training and experience in control system programming is a plus.
*Customer Service: Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with clients, interior designers, and other professionals to ensure project success.
*Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, particularly in system calibration, wiring, and installation processes.
*Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (responsibility for driving to job sites and client locations).
*Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and install AV equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in tight spaces, and install systems in residential environments.
Preferred Skills:
*Familiarity with home automation platforms such as Control4, Crestron, Savant, or Lutron.
*Experience with multi-zone audio/video distribution systems, home theatre design, and lighting control integration.
*Experience in troubleshooting advanced AV systems, including calibration of displays and audio equipment.
*Basic knowledge of home security and surveillance systems integration is a plus
