Experienced Accounts Assistant – Immediate Start
?? Location: WV4 area of Wolverhampton (Bilston)
?? Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent placement
?? Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility available)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team in a well-established manufacturing business. This is an immediate start position – you must be available to interview and start ASAP.
You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the finance team across various accounting tasks, including purchase ledger, cashbook, expenses, and month-end routines. The role also provides backup support for other finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
*Invoice Processing: Handle high-volume invoices (approx. 1,000 per month) accurately and efficiently.
*Purchase Ledger: Daily invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and weekly payment runs.
*Cashbook & Bank Reconciliation: Daily postings and weekly reconciliations.
*Month-End Routines: Assist with nominal ledger and ensure cut-offs are met.
*Reporting: Maintain invoice registers, produce KPI reports, and overhead cost analysis.
*GRNI & GISO Monitoring: Regular reviews and resolution of legacy items.
*Communication: Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries promptly.
*Digital Filing: Maintain accurate and organized records.
Essential Skills & Experience
*5+ years’ experience in accounts payable and general ledger.
*Proven ability to process high volumes of invoices.
*Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
*Experience with SAP S/4 HANA or similar ERP systems is desirable (SAP implementation planned for 2026).
*Proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
