The Role

Reed are seeking an experienced Finance Controller for a long-standing client in the engineering industry to manage the day-to-day financial operations and support strategic growth. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee core finance functions and ensure robust financial governance.
Location: NW10 6QD (Office-based with 1 day WFH)
Salary: £70,000 per annum
Start Date: January Onwards
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver Management Accounts and Budgeting reports.

• Maintain accurate Trial Balance and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Support financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Assist with Mergers & Acquisitions

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.

• Liaise with external providers for Credit Control and Payroll (both outsourced).

• Drive system implementation projects

• Ensure strong internal controls and risk management practices.

• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost control initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Finance Controller or similar senior finance role.

• Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

• Exposure to M&A processes and integration of acquired businesses.

• Experience with ERP system implementation (Sage X3 and/or Halo advantageous).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred
