Teaching Assistant ( Higher Level) for school in Billingshurst Horsham West Sussex RH14
We require an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant at our school in Billingshurst supporting children and young adults with various learning difficulties and disabilities including Cerebral Palsy as well as visual impairment, hearing impairment and more complex medical needs. Secondary provision for children with social, speech and language communication difficulties.
Our School is a non-maintained special school that offers extensive specialist facilities with the aim to provide an exceptional learning environment, helping children and young people fulfil their potential. Facilities include woodland and outdoor classroom space, high specification sensory room and swimming pool.
Our IMS provision caters for students aged 3—19 years with neurological motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy and associated medical and sensory needs. Following the Conductive Education approach, Ingfield Manor School focuses on the holistic development of everyone, including their physical and communication skills.

The role will also involve some intimate and personal care and is best suited to someone with experience in SEND schools or specialist provisions who is confident supporting pupils with physical care needs as part of their holistic development.
Teaching Assistant ( Higher Level) Hours and salary
Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only (39 weeks) Salary:£12.31 to £13.56 £24,440 - £26,403 pa (FT 52wks £28,496 - £30,784) dependent upon experience
What our Teaching Assistant ( Higher Level) will do:
* Support pupils’ learning through structured interventions, classroom support and targeted small-group or 1:1 work

* Assist with or lead on daily intimate care routines with sensitivity, respect and professionalism

* Build strong, trusting relationships with students - offering consistency, encouragement and emotional regulation support

* Contribute to the planning, delivery and adaptation of learning materials for pupils with EHCPs

* Work closely with class teachers, therapists and the SENCO to assess needs and implement personalised strategies

* Support behaviour regulation and positive routines using a calm, relational approach

* Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom and wider school environment

* Planning & Preparation

* Support assessment, planning, and progress monitoring.Prepare classrooms and resources for lessons.Contribute to lesson planning and structured learning activities.Plan for inclusive learning support.Transition SupportAssist with transition programmes for incoming Year 7 students.Support summer transition events and orientation sessions.Engage with students and families during the Autumn term to ease transitions.

What we require from our Teaching Assistant ( Higher Level)
* Previous experience in neurological motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy and associated medical and sensory needs.

* Knowledge of or training in personal care, manual handling, or medical needs

* A confident, nurturing and adaptable approach

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with families and multi-disciplinary teams

* HLTA qualification or TA experience at a high level - training can be provided
