  • England,London,City of London
  • Full Time, Contract
  • £337 - £440 per day, inc benefits
Job Description:
The Metropolitan Police Service is on a mission: More trust. Less crime. High standards. Their New Met for London plan sets out how they will deliver this - cutting crime through community engagement, building a culture rooted in policing by consent, and deploying our people more effectively.
Driving this transformation requires significant change across the organisation - particularly in how their teams are structured and operate. That’s why they’re looking for an experienced HR Change Manager to lead people-focused change initiatives and provide expert guidance to managers implementing these reforms.
Rate: £337 per day via PAYE or £440 per day via Umbrella (inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months Contract
Location: Kilburn Police Station, Hybrid work – 3 days in the office
What you’ll bring
You’ll have a strong understanding of HR services and the legal frameworks that underpin change activity, including employment law, TUPE regulations and redundancy. While experience in a policing environment is helpful, it’s not essential. What matters most is your ability to:
*Build strong, credible relationships with senior stakeholders
*Communicate complex information clearly and concisely
*Confidently raise risks, challenge ideas constructively, and negotiate positive solutions
You’ll also share our values—integrity, courage, accountability, respect and empathy—and apply them in every decision you make.
What you’ll do
Your role will focus on four key areas:
*Implementing agreed change strategies and clarifying policy impacts
*Delivering people-based change activities for projects, restructures and reorganisations
*Contributing to the development of HR policies, processes and tools
*Driving continuous improvement within HR to ensure efficient, effective services
Why this role matters
You’ll play a pivotal role in major transformation projects - helping to build new organisational units, reshape existing ones, and manage redeployment with professionalism and empathy. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll lead specific activities with full accountability, and your work will be highly visible to senior operational leaders.
Essential experience
*Proven experience delivering projects to time, cost and quality standards
*Strong knowledge of HR processes and the legal context for change
*Ability to build credibility and trust with senior colleagues
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Experience providing clear, authoritative policy advice
Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants must hold a CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) clearance in the UK or be willing to go through the check to obtain one. If you have the required experience and skill set apply now for immediate consideration.
