Job Purpose
This role is responsible for ensuring that payments, receipts and other transactions are processed correctly and accounted for; bank accounts are effectively controlled and reconciled, and that nominal ledger accounts are reconciled, all in accordance with TfL Pensions Fund procedures
Key accountabilities
*Ensuring all payments are correctly authorised and processed in the Fund’s accounting system in accordance with TfL Pensions Fund procedures and deadlines
*Reconciling the Fund’sbank accounts including resolving banking and payroll queries
*Completing monthly and quarterly reconciliation of various nominal ledger accounts, including examination of queriesthat arise, and ascertaining the remedial action necessary to correct errors
*Ensuring employeeand employer contributions are received and accounted for in accordance with Schedule of Contributions
*Preparing schedules, spreadsheets and other financial information as required Ensuring cheques and BACs payments are correctly authorised
*Preparing VAT returns for HM Revenue& Customs &TfL
Key interfaces
*Accountable to the Pensions Finance Specialist Other key interfaces:
*Pensions team members - raise and resolve queries in relation to benefit and pension payments, invoices and receipts Banks - raise and resolve queries on banking of receipts, bank accounts, stopping payments
*TFL Trustee Company Directors - for payment authorisations
*TFL Finance and Procurement - in relation to the processing of purchase orders and invoices Suppliers - invoice payment queries
