Job Description:
Deliver expert brickwork repairs that make a lasting difference for our tenants.
We’re looking for a skilled Bricklayer to join our team at Freebridge Community Housing. In this hands-on role, you’ll complete all manner of bricklaying repairs and maintenance jobs to keep our homes in great condition.
You’ll use your trade expertise to diagnose issues, complete works efficiently, and keep residents informed throughout. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills in a role that values craftsmanship, teamwork, and putting customers first.

Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across west and north Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants’ promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. What you’ll be doing:
*Brickwork Repairs & Maintenance: Carry out essential brickwork repairs in line with Freebridge standards and best practice.
*Problem Diagnosis: Use your trade expertise to identify issues and deliver effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
*Communication & Updates: Keep colleagues and tenants informed about works, including timescales and progress updates.
*Health & Safety Compliance: Work safely at all times, following internal guidance and industry best practice to protect yourself, colleagues, and tenants.
*Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Property Services team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment.
*Record Keeping: Complete all electronic and paper records promptly and accurately to ensure compliance and accountability.
*Material Management: Order, store, and use materials efficiently, minimising waste and maintaining accurate records.
*End-to-End Maintenance Activities: Manage jobs from pre-inspection through to completion, including ordering materials and completing all paperwork accurately.
*Vehicle & Uniform Standards: Keep your vehicle and uniform clean and presentable, reflecting professionalism and pride in your work.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
*City & Guilds (or other recognised awarding body) trade qualification in trade skill
*3 yrs. experience of trade in a maintenance environment
*Experience of and current training in health & safety and ladders
*Specific qualifications as required by trade
*Commitment to excellent customer service
*Ability to carry out tasks in a clean and safe manner
*Must have a full UK driving licence for the class of vehicle that is required to fulfil the job role.
Desirable:
*Advanced craft in trade skill
*Formal apprenticeship in main trade.
