Castlefield Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected specialist orthopaedic healthcare provider, based in the heart of Londons medical district. This role is working under one of the UK’s leading spinal surgeons, who is seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join their team on a permanent basis.
Based: Marylebone, London
Type: Permanent Role
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week – Hybrid working 2 days on/3 days off
Salary: up to £35,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
Job Description:
This is a pivotal role providing dedicated 1:1 secretarial support to a renowned spinal surgeon, working closely with complex private patients who require a high level of care and discretion.
Key responsibilities include:
*Providing comprehensive medical secretarial support to a spinal surgeon managing complex spinal cases
*Handling private patient pathways with sensitivity, professionalism, and attention to detail
*Managing correspondence, clinic letters, reports, and medico-legal documentation using accurate clinical and spinal terminology
*Coordinating appointments, investigations, and surgical procedures for private patients
*Acting as a key point of contact for patients, consultants, insurers, and other healthcare professionals
*Ensuring a high standard of patient care, particularly for individuals with complex injuries who require additional support
This role offers a hybrid working model, with 3 days remote and 2 days on-site, providing flexibility while remaining closely connected to the clinical team.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
*Proven experience as a Medical Secretary working 1:1 with a spinal surgeon
*Strong understanding of spinal terminology and complex spinal conditions
*Experience within private practice is highly desirable; however, candidates from an NHS-only background will be considered
*Excellent English language skills, with strong written and verbal communication
*A high level of professionalism, discretion, and patient-focused care
*The right to work in the UK (please note, no sponsorship is available)
