Are you an experienced Contracts & Commercial Lawyer looking for a senior role with autonomy? We have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Senior Lawyer to lead on complex agreements, procurement, and strategic projects for a respected public sector legal service.
About the Role
You will act as the sole and senior lawyer for contracts and commercial matters, providing expert advice and leadership across a range of areas. This is a high-profile role requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Agreements: Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including:
*Construction
*ICT
*Adult Social Care
*Housing works
*NDAs, collaboration, management, grant agreements, SLAs
(Adult Social Care and Strategic Housing/Development are the largest client areas.)

* Procurement:
*Liaise with external procurement teams.
*Advise clients on process, constitutional requirements, delegations, and authority.

* Projects:
*Act as legal lead on projects with contracts/commercial or property overlap.
*Provide advice and oversee project actions and direction.

* General Advice:
*Advise on contractual relationships, novation, non-performance/overperformance issues.

* Training:
*Deliver training to clients on decision-making, governance, and process.

About You
*Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant experience in contracts and commercial law.
*Strong knowledge of public sector procurement and governance.
*Ability to work independently as the sole senior lawyer.
*Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
