Job Description:
Trade Compliance Specialist
*Location: Aberdeen, Scotland
*Job Type: Full-time
An esteemed company with a legacy spanning over 140 years in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to join their office in Aberdeen. This role is ideal for professionals with established experience in trade compliance law, and who are ready to voice their vision, embrace change, and thrive in a diverse, innovative, and collaborative global environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide comprehensive global export/import compliance advice to the business.
*Develop, review, and update export and import compliance policies, manuals, and operating procedures.
*Conduct periodic training for company personnel on export and import laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
*Assist in developing and implementing auditing methodologies; conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with export and import regulations and company procedures.
*Classify Export (ECCN) and Import (HTS, HS) classifications for the company’s products.
*Ensure adherence to UK, U.S., and other applicable Export Control regulations, as well as internal corporate policies and procedures.
*Manage UK Export Licensing, including submission and management of export license applications.
*Monitor and maintain trade compliance data elements within the company’s systems.
*Support periodic internal assessments of the trade compliance program, identify risk areas, and recommend improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Previous trade compliance experience with specific knowledge of trade compliance law.
*Extensive knowledge of UK, EU, and US import/export regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, HMRC, Export Control Joint Unit, and Department of International Trade.
*Proven expertise with U.S., European, and UK export and import regulations.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
*Pro-active work approach and excellent team collaboration skills.
*Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
