Stock Investment Manager

Bury Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Stock Investment Manager to lead the implementation of major capital projects aligned with the borough’s ambitious regeneration and infrastructure strategy. This pivotal role within Housing Services is responsible for delivering a high-profile, multi-million-pound capital programme that will shape the future of Bury’s 7,700 social housing stock.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead the delivery of capital projects from inception to completion.
*Manage project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
*Develop and maintain detailed project plans, financial forecasts, and phasing strategies.
*Collaborate with internal departments (legal, finance, procurement, planning) and external stakeholders.
*Provide strategic oversight and reporting to senior leadership, elected members, and other stakeholders.
*Ensure compliance with procurement, health & safety, and sustainability standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in managing large-scale capital investment programmes.
*Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
*A background in regeneration, infrastructure, or public sector capital delivery.
*Ability to manage budgets, risk, and performance across multiple projects.
*A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and delivery.
*Professional Qualification e.g., Chartered Institute of Building (MIOCB), Degree in Building Surveying is essential.
*Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in a relevant field.
