Job Description:
The Metropolitan Police Service is transforming. Our mission is clear: More trust. Less crime. High standards. To deliver this, we are implementing the New Met for London plan – cutting crime through community crime fighting, building a culture rooted in policing by consent, and deploying our people more effectively.
Driving this reform requires significant organisational change, and we are looking for an experienced HR Change Manager to lead people-focused change initiatives. You will play a key role in delivering restructuring projects, supporting managers through change, and ensuring HR operations remain efficient and effective.
This is an initial 6-month contract role based at Kilburn, Police Station (3 days per week with 2 days working from home). The pay rate for the role is up to £440 per day via an Umbrella company (inside IR35) - PAYE rates also available.
Key Responsibilities
*Implement agreed change strategies and clarify the impact of policy and process.
*Deliver people-based change activity for projects, restructures, and reorganisations.
*Contribute to the development of HR policies, processes, and tools for change delivery.
*Drive continuous improvement within HR to enhance efficiency and frontline service.
Scope for Impact
You will lead the HR elements of major transformation projects, enabling new organisational units and managing redeployment with empathy and professionalism. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will have full accountability for delivering specific activities, with visibility to senior operational leaders.
Essential Skills & Experience
*Proven experience delivering change within a project environment, meeting time, cost, and quality targets.
*Strong knowledge of HR processes and employment law
*Ability to build credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
*Excellent communication skills – able to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
*Experience providing authoritative policy advice and guidance.
