Job Description:
Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist
*Hourly Rate: £17.18 PAYE or £22.32 via Umbrella
*Location: Sheffield, S2
*Job Type: Hybrid (2 days in the office)
Join our Facilities Management Contracts Team at a local authority in Sheffield as a Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist. In this role, you will manage procurement processes and contracts, ensuring compliance with Council policies and legislation, and supporting the Council’s strategic objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage procurement and contract activities, ensuring compliance with Council policies and relevant legislation.
*Develop and implement systems and procedures for effective contract management.
*Monitor supplier performance and contribute to performance reporting.
*Support the achievement of value for money and risk management.
*Liaise with service teams and contractors to drive service improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in contracts and purchasing (public or private sector)
*Strong understanding of procurement and contract management, especially in the public sector.
*Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
*Ability to draft and implement processes, and prepare reports.
*Recognised purchasing qualification or willingness to work towards one.
*Strong IT skills.
