Location: Harlow
Contract: Temporary - January (with potential longer-term opportunity)
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (part-time long-term role available thereafter)
Pay rate: £15 - £18 per hour + holiday pay
Start date: First week of January
Robert Half is exclusively recruiting on behalf of a school for an experienced Temporary Office Manager to provide full-time cover throughout the month of January. This is a key role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. There is also the opportunity for a part-time, longer-term position following the temporary assignment for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities * Oversee the daily operations of the school office
* Line manage and support administrative staff where required
* Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external stakeholders
* Manage attendance records, pupil data, and general school administration
* Coordinate communications, correspondence, and diary management
* Support finance-related administration such as invoicing, orders, and expense processing
* Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and data protection requirements
* Liaise with senior leadership to support operational needs during the period
Person Specification * Proven experience in an office management or senior administrative role
* Previous experience within a school or education setting is highly desirable
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Confident managing multiple priorities in a busy environment
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office and school management systems (e.g. SIMS or similar - desirable)
* Professional, approachable, and able to hit the ground running
