Job Description:
Are you passionate about culture, creativity, and making London a world-leading 24-hour city? We’re looking for a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to help Greater London Authority (GLA) deliver the mayor’s vision for arts, hospitality, and creative industries.
Based in the Culture, Creative Industries and 24-Hour London Unit at the GLA, you’ll play a vital role in promoting high-profile programmes such as London Borough of Culture, Creative Enterprise Zones, and the iconic Fourth Plinth. Your work will help ensure London remains the number one destination for culture and entertainment.
Duration: 3-month contract
Pay rate: £31.62 per hour via PAYE or £41.17 per hour via Umbrella
Location: Hybrid work and few days based at City Hall – few minutes’ walk from Canning Town and Royal Victoria
What You’ll Do
*Lead and deliver communications plans for major cultural projects and campaigns.
*Coordinate stakeholder engagement internally and externally, building strong relationships across the creative industries.
*Work closely with press, marketing, and digital teams to ensure our messaging is integrated and impactful.
*Oversee day-to-day management of the Unit’s communications function, deputising for the Senior Officer when required.
*Develop and manage social media channels, newsletters, and other platforms to maximise reach.
*Support the delivery of major events and Mayoral projects, ensuring London’s cultural priorities shine.
*Advise senior leaders and partners on cultural policy and engagement strategies.
*Ensure all communications reflect the mayor’s policies and embed equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
