Job Description:
A leading banking institution wish to recruit a payments officer, the role holder will support the Payments Manager and Senior Payments Officer to help the payments department evolve and develop in accordance with regulatory and business requirements
Main Duties
*Process various types of payment instructions for both internal and external customers in line with the role responsibilities
*Communicate with correspondent banks and their intermediaries to ensure payments are completed
*Work with the Payments Manager and Senior Payments Officer to manage workflow and meet regulation
*Use banking knowledge to manage customer expectations
*Complete reconciliations and confirmation checklists where required
*Direct debit and standing orders letter writing & checking
*Direct debit origination
*Sterling remittances
*Foreign remittances
*Foreign cheque collection
*Foreign outward payments
*CHAPS/SWIFT/Bankline processing
*CHAPS/SWIFT input / check / release
Experience Required
*Payment subject matter expert
*No less than 2 years Payments experience
*Proven ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
*Ability to meet schedules and deadlines with thorough, accurate and quality work
