Job Description:
This exciting and hands-on role is based on-site at our scenic warehouse, where you will be responsible for creating high-quality scenic elements, liaising with various departments, and ensuring that all builds meet the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Main Duties:
* Construct scenic elements and set pieces to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.
* Prioritise and manage incoming builds efficiently, maintaining clear communication with the Workshop Manager and Production team.
* Proactively contribute to the smooth operation of the Workshop, identifying potential issues and proposing practical solutions.
* Maintain a safe, organised, and secure Workshop environment, ensuring all tools and machinery are used correctly and stored appropriately.
* Conduct and document regular equipment checks.
* Oversee and maintain forklift truck logs and paperwork (where applicable).
* Support on-site installations and de-rigs as required, particularly on complex or large-scale builds.
* Assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Fabricate bespoke scenic components, including timber frames and complete surface finishes such as painting, covering, and dressing with materials (e.g., felt, PVC, canvas).
* Perform repairs and maintenance on existing set pieces to ensure they remain in good working condition.
* Report any faults, damages, or safety issues with tools or equipment immediately to management.
* Be available for overtime and flexible working hours when required to meet production schedules.
