A leading Defence organisation is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their Helicopters division in Yeovil on a long-term contract.
*Role: Buyer
*Pay: Up to £25 p/hr (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
*Duration: 9-12 month contract
*Location: Yeovil
*Working Pattern: Hybrid 2 days (fully onsite requirement for first 2 weeks)
This role will play an integral part in keeping critical operations moving, managing supplier relationships, placing purchase orders, and driving procurement performance.
What you’ll be doing:
*Managing the end-to-end purchasing process for critical components and services
*Handling RFQs, supplier negotiations, and purchase order placement
*Ensuring accuracy and compliance across all purchasing documentation
*Liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
*Collaborating closely with internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to support smooth business operations
This is a hands-on role that offers the perfect balance of responsibility and autonomy.
What we’re looking for:
*Experience within Aerospace, Defence or a similar environment
*Experience in RFQs, supplier management, and PO processing
*Advanced excel skills (Formulas, VLOOKUPs)
*Experience with suppliers
*Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in purchasing documentation
*Ability to take ownership of the procurement process while working collaboratively
