Tax Assistant
Location: Jesmond
Type: Full-Time / Permanent (36.5 hours per week)
Salary: £25,000 – £27,500
We are looking for a confident and motivated Tax Assistant to join our Tax Compliance team. You will work closely with clients to ensure the accurate and timely submission of personal and partnership tax returns. You’ll also play a key role in preparing clients for the upcoming Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax Self-Assessment (ITSA) changes, helping them transition smoothly to digital record-keeping and quarterly reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare personal and partnership tax returns
*Support clients with MTD for ITSA compliance
*Liaise with clients to gather information and answer queries
*Maintain accurate records and assist with general tax compliance tasks
What We’re Looking For:
*Minimum 2 years’ experience in a personal tax role within an accountancy firm or similar
*Willingness to learn and progress within the team
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
*Experience with Excel; Xero experience is desirable but not essential
*ATT study support available for the right candidate
