Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join an excellent finance team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a legal accounts environment and a strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SRA). This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Processing bills and checking ledgers
*Handling client-to-office transfers
*Accurate and timely processing of client and office account payments
*Cheque production and telegraphic transfers via electronic banking
*Posting legal aid transactions
*Checking and balancing client completion statements and probate statements
*Calculating interest
*Ensuring compliance with money laundering regulations during transactions
*Assisting with daily bank reconciliations and reviewing outstanding receipts
*Managing petty cash
*Processing and paying staff expenses
*Maintaining and processing purchase ledger accounts
*Banking duties
*Carrying out financial analysis and ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager
*Providing cover for accounts staff during holiday or sickness
*Ensuring adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal policies at all times
*Maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of work
Requirements
*Previous experience in a legal account setting
*Working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Excellent organizational and communication skills
