Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be supporting a specialist manufacturing business in South Yorkshire as the look to hire an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will assume control of production on the site and bring sustainable positive change to increase productivity, efficiency and profit.

The business supplies into specialist markets around the globe, with a reliable customer base. The company are looking for an individual who is passionate about continuous improvement, staff motivation, skills improvement and overall business performance.


Responsibilities:
*Leading, managing, motivating, and optimising the current team
*Problem solve and successfully build on the processes and procedures already in place for Continuous improvement of productivity/efficiency.
*Translate strategic and operational objectives into annual plans for the Production Department.
*Advise on required personnel, investments and improvement actions determining in the design and/or organisation of production.
*Ensuring a safe and clean working environment creating safety awareness among employees.
*Managing work preparation (production planning) for production in the broadest sense.
*Organising the execution of assembly and machining activities in accordance with planning and proactively anticipating disruptions.
*Organising and controlling process flow & optimisation of work, also across departments, e.g. by means of standardisation, reports, etc.
*Controlling the quality of work and recording, analysing, taking corrective and preventive measures for improvement.
*Converting forecasts and orders into appropriate purchasing actions
*Control material stock levels based on departmental budget and an economic stock level.
*Manage the culture of HSE of site - developing a zero-accident culture.
About you:
*At least 5-years supervisor management experience, ideally within a specialist/project based manufacturing setting
*Knowledge of Health and Safety - IOSH qualification preferred
*Experience of working in an engineered product design, development, and manufacturing business not a simplistic high volume manufacturing environment is preferred
*Knowledge of managing performance and KPIs involving a highly skilled workforce.
*Hands on, wanting to be visible and engaging with all team members.
*You will be a confident communicator across different functions of a business all looking to achieve the same goal.
*Positive and adaptable with a "can do" attitude
