Job Description:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health and Social Care - Learning Coach based in Northwich. The role focuses on supporting young adult learners, particularly those with additional needs including social, emotional, and special educational needs (SEN). You will contribute to an inclusive, engaging learning environment, promoting the social and emotional development of learners with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities *Learner Support: Provide tailored academic and emotional support, fostering a positive learning environment.
*Offer one-on-one and group support to students with SEN.
*Implement strategies from individual EHCPs and track progress.
*Promote social and emotional well-being by offering guidance and encouragement.
*Classroom Management: Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning space.
*Use differentiated teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
*Monitor and report on learner progress, behaviour, and well-being.
*Collaboration with Staff: Work collaboratively with other coaches and external professionals.
*Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to learner’s specific needs.
*Safeguarding and Well-being: Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning culture.
*Understand and follow safeguarding procedures.
Job Requirements
You should possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
Essential:
*Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT or equivalent.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload.
*Experience working with young adults with additional needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
*Knowledge and experience in supporting students with EHCPs.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
*A full, valid driving license is an essential requirement for this role
Desirable:
*Qualification in education, teaching assistant training, or a relevant field.
*Experience working with EHCPs and understanding of statutory processes.
*Knowledge of relevant behavioural management strategies.
*First aid or other relevant welfare training.
