Head of Finance | Cultural Organisation | West Yorkshire| Circa £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

I’m working with one of the North’s most exciting cultural organisations on this Head of Finance opportunity.

The Organisation
Based in a central location with a brand new, purpose-built facilities in the heart of the city, this award winning organisation is doing brilliant things including running community programmes that genuinely change lives, and champions diversity across everything they do.

If you’ve ever fancied working somewhere where your finance expertise directly enables world-class creativity and community impact, this could be it.

The Role
You’ll be leading the day-to-day finance operations for the main charity and its trading arm, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This is proper hands-on finance leadership - you’ll have a small team of Finance Officers and an Assistant reporting to you, but you’ll still be rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in.

Your fingerprints will be all over:
*Monthly management accounts and year-end statutory reporting for multiple entities
*Leading the finance team and supporting their development
*Balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, and working capital management
*VAT returns, Gift Aid claims, and all the compliance bits
*Budget preparation and monitoring across departments
*Year-end audit preparation
*Working with budget holders across the organisation (translating finance-speak for the creatives!)
*Systems development and continuous improvement
You
You’ll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least two years’ post-qualification experience, either in practice or in-house. Strong Excel skills are a must, and you’ll need to be comfortable with different accounting software packages.

Knowledge of charity accounting would be great, but if you’ve got solid technical skills and genuine enthusiasm for the arts, we’d still love to hear from you.

More importantly, you’ll be someone who can communicate financial
information to people with varying levels of financial knowledge, who’s keen to review and improve systems, and who genuinely enjoys working collaboratively with different teams.

If you’re someone who wants to use your finance skills to enable something meaningful, rather than just hitting numbers in isolation - lets talk!

Why This Role?
Working in the charity sector gives you such variety - you’re dealing with everything from community programmes, operations to fundraising.

On top of your £50,000 salary you’ll get 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension contributions, and the satisfaction of knowing your work directly enables activities that make a real difference.
