About the Role
As a Management Accountant, you’ll work closely with the Management Accounts Manager to ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain robust internal controls. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making across the business, while mentoring team members and fostering continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Take ownership of producing accurate and timely management accounts, giving you hands-on experience with real deadlines and business-critical reporting.
*Dive into variance analysis, comparing actual results to budgets and uncovering trends that influence key decisions.
*Showcase your insights to senior leaders, building confidence and visibility within the business.
*Strengthen your technical skills by managing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the fixed asset register.
*Play an active role in budgeting and VAT returns, gaining exposure to essential processes that will accelerate your qualification journey.
*Partner with other departments, providing advice on P&L queries and procurement - a great way to broaden your commercial understanding.
*Spot opportunities for cost savings and efficiency, helping shape profitability and business performance.
*Champion compliance and process improvements, ensuring finance policies remain robust and effective.
*Work with leading financial systems (Sun, Coupa & SIS), enhancing your tech skills for future roles.
*Handle statutory reporting requirements, including Office of National Statistics forms - adding valuable experience to your CV.
*Get involved in exciting projects and continuous improvement initiatives, making a real impact beyond day-to-day tasks.
What We’re Looking For
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle large datasets.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Advanced Excel proficiency and a knack for process improvement.
*Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
*Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards.
