SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
Location: SE2, South East London
Start Date: January
Contract: Full-time, term time
A supportive secondary school in the SE2 area is seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from January.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them to access learning and achieve their potential.
The Role:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND across KS3 and KS4
* Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
* Assisting students in the classroom to stay engaged and access the curriculum
* Working closely with teachers, the SENCo, and support staff
* Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
* Supporting students both academically and socially
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience preferred)
* Be patient, nurturing, and resilient
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be proactive and able to build positive relationships with students
* Be committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners
* Be available full time from January
