Maths Lecturer
Location: Melton Mowbray
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time
Reed FE are working with a College in Melton Mowbray and are seeking a dedicated Maths Lecturer with experience in delivering GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths. This role involves planning, implementing, and delivering maths programmes to a diverse range of learners. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Level 4 teaching qualification and a Level 3 Maths qualification.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Deliver engaging maths lessons to GCSE and Functional Skills re-sitters.
*Collaborate with the Head of Learning, the maths coordinator, and the maths team to develop best practices in learning, teaching, and assessment.
*Assess learners according to established guidelines and provide a positive learning experience.
*Design, develop, monitor, and share educational resources, including online resources.
*Contribute to the design and development of schemes of work.
*Participate in parent evenings, open events, enrolment, and interviewing applicants.
*Implement quality procedures and contribute to evaluative programme reviews.
*Maintain accurate records of learner performance and attendance.
*Attend and contribute to relevant departmental and college meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified teacher (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS, or CET) or a firm commitment to obtain the required teaching qualification.
*Minimum of 4 GCSEs (A* - C, 9 – 4 or equivalent), including Maths and English.
*Recent and relevant experience of delivering maths learning in an educational setting.
*Demonstrated ability to apply effective teaching approaches to various levels and target audiences.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and Prevent duties.
*Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
