English Instructor - Northampton Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Jan-Apr 2026) with Potential for Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Are you passionate about English and eager to inspire young people through language and literature?
Are you an English Instructor, tutor, graduate, or aspiring teacher looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive school environment?
Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a well-regarded single sex secondary school in Northampton, who are seeking a dedicated English Instructor to join their team from January 2026. The position is initially offered on a January to April basis, with a strong opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for someone confident in delivering English across Key Stages 3 and 4, who is keen to develop their classroom experience while making a meaningful impact on student progress.
The Role: * Deliver structured and engaging English lessons using existing schemes of work, with scope for creative input
* Support students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills
* Adapt lessons to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners, including those with SEND or additional needs
* Work collaboratively with the English department and pastoral teams to support progress and wellbeing
* Maintain a positive, focused classroom environment and provide constructive feedback
About You: * Strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature
* Experience working with secondary-aged students (teaching, tutoring, or classroom support)
* Confident and professional classroom presence
* Patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting all learners
* A degree in English or a related subject is desirable, though not essential
