Economics Specialist Teaching Assistant Secondary School - Tower Hamlets
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Economics Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity to support students’ understanding of economic concepts and contribute to high-quality teaching and learning within the Economics and Business Studies department.
The Role
As an Economics Specialist TA, you will work closely with subject teachers to support students across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will help students develop confidence with economic theory, data interpretation, and exam skills, both in lessons and through targeted intervention sessions.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students in GCSE and A Level Economics lessons

* Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions to reinforce key economic concepts

* Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom activities

* Support students with exam technique, extended writing, and data analysis

* Encourage engagement, independent learning, and academic aspiration

* Monitor and support student progress under the guidance of teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate
* A strong academic background in Economics or a related subject (degree or equivalent desirable)

* Experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience preferred)

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* A patient, proactive, and organised approach

* A genuine interest in education and raising achievement
