Job Description:
Key ResponsibilitiesPupil Support * Support individual pupils or small groups with a range of additional learning needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health needs, or complex learning difficulties
* Assist pupils with their learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
* Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required, in line with care plans and training
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
* Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem
Classroom Support * Assist the teacher in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials
* Support the delivery of tailored learning programmes and interventions
* Help create a structured, calm, and inclusive learning environment
* Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Behaviour and Wellbeing * Implement behaviour support strategies consistently
* Support pupils during unstructured times such as break, lunch, and transitions
* Recognise and respond appropriately to pupils’ emotional and sensory needs
Person SpecificationEssential * Experience of working with children or young people (ideally in an SEN/ALN setting)
* A caring, patient, and flexible approach
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* Good communication and teamwork skill
