1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School
Location: Royston, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (term-time only)
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to secure a long-term role in a supportive mainstream school?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming school in the Royston area that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This role involves supporting a pupil with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH) on a one-to-one basis.
This is a rewarding full-time position for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
*Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
*Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning
*Work with the pupil both in the classroom and within the school’s dedicated support provision
*Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
*Build strong, trusting relationships that promote stability and independence
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
*Has experience supporting children with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges
*Is calm, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships
*Can confidently implement behaviour strategies and follow personalised support plans
*Is resilient, patient, and consistent during challenging moments
*Is passionate about making a meaningful difference to a child’s progress and wellbeing
