Job Description:
1:1 Teaching Assistant Needed - Start February 2026 or ASAP
Location: Strood
Role: Full-Time, Long-Term (Year 1 Support)
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Strood is seeking a caring and confident Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil who needs guidance with their learning journey and help with regulating frustrations.
About the Role
*Full-time, long-term position starting Term 4 / February 2026
*Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil
*Assisting with early learning skills, activities and classroom engagement
*Using calm, nurturing approaches to help the pupil manage their emotions
*Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
*Helping to create a positive, structured learning environment
About You
*Experience working with children in KS1 (SEN experience essential)
*Patient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure
*Skilled in supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
*Creative in encouraging participation, progress and independence
*A strong team player with excellent communication skills
*Committed to safeguarding and supporting pupil wellbeing
