Job Description:
Nursery PractitionerSalary: £24,000 – £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week
Working Hours: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Contract: All year round
About this Role:
To provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment that supports the learning and development of children aged 0-5 years, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities
*Childcare & Welfare: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children, including assisting with personal care routines (feeding, nappy changing/toileting, rest periods).
*Education & Activities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate play and learning activities to promote holistic development (physical, social, emotional, and cognitive
*Assessment: Act as a Key Person for a group of children, observing, assessing, and accurately recording their progress to inform planning and individual support.
*Safeguarding: Uphold and adhere to all Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures.
*Partnership: Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with parents/carers, keeping them informed of their child’s daily activities and developmental progress.
*Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the nursery team to maintain a clean, organised, and positive setting.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
*Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
*Focus on encouraging children’s learning through fun and engaging play.
*Work collaboratively within a dedicated team in a stimulating, family-friendly environment.
*Contribute to the leadership of a happy nursery
Requirements*Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an early years setting
*Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
*Proven ability to lead, motivate and support a team
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*Passion for delivering high-quality early years education
