Job Description:
Service Technician / MOT TesterOverviewWe are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician / MOT Tester to join a busy and well-established automotive business. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles
*Perform MOT testing in line with DVSA regulations (where qualified)
*Diagnose faults accurately using manufacturer diagnostic equipment
*Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
*Conduct vehicle health checks and report any additional work required
*Ensure all job cards, paperwork, and MOT records are completed accurately
*Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
*Work collaboratively with the service team to meet productivity targets
Requirements*Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
*Valid MOT Tester Licence (preferred but not essential for the right candidate)
*Proven experience as a Service Technician in a dealership or independent garage
*Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
*Full UK driving licence
*Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
*A positive, professional attitude with good attention to detail
