Food Technology Teacher - SEMH School (Blackpool) Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 (MPS/UPS - Paid to Scale) + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-Time

Are you a passionate Food Technology Teacher looking for a truly rewarding role? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Food Technology Teacher to join our specialist SEMH school in Blackpool. This is a unique opportunity to use your culinary expertise to make a real difference in the lives of young people who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
At our school, Food Technology is more than just a subject, it is a vital life skill that builds independence, confidence, and emotional regulation.
The Role As our new Food Tech Teacher, you will:
* Deliver engaging, practical lessons to small groups of students (typically 5-8 per class).
* Adapt the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEMH and associated needs (such as ADHD or Autism).
* Foster a safe, therapeutic environment where students can thrive and develop vocational skills.
* Work alongside a supportive multi-disciplinary team, including therapists and specialist support staff.
Requirements * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology / Catering / Nutrition.
* Experience or a strong interest in working within Special Educational Needs (SEN) or SEMH settings.
* Exceptional de-escalation skills and a "nurture-first" approach to behaviour management.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
