Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support (Lambeth) Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Lambeth (near Vauxhall Station)
Start Date: ASAP | Trialling immediately
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: £95-£120 per day
Year Group: Year 5
School Type: One-form entry primary school
Support Type: One-to-one SEMH support (mainstream classroom)
About the Role A friendly and close-knit one-form entry primary school in Lambeth, located a short walk from Vauxhall Station, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one SEMH support for a Year 5 pupil in a mainstream classroom.
The pupil requires consistent emotional regulation support, clear boundaries, and a calm, trauma-aware approach to help them engage positively with learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement behaviour strategies and provide structure throughout the school day.
The Ideal Candidate The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
* Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs
* Can remain calm, patient, and consistent during challenging moments
* Understands behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies
* Builds strong, trusting relationships while maintaining expectations
* Works confidently within a mainstream classroom setting
Experience in SEMH support, mentoring, youth work, or care settings is highly valued.
