Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) Food Manufacturing | Days | Greenock
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Greenock
Hours: 40-45 per week | Days, Monday-Thursday
We are working on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business in Greenock who are looking to strengthen their engineering function with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanical bias).
This is a days-based role within a stable, growing operation and offering long-term security.
The Role Reporting into the Chief Engineer and working closely with the wider engineering team, your responsibilities will include:
* Attending and resolving machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site equipment
* Prioritising reactive work in line with production targets
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Working on a variety of process and packaging machinery, including:
* Steam boilers
* Compressors, pumps and valves
* Conveyors, weighers and packaging machines
About You To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding capability
* Previous experience within food or FMCG manufacturing
* A proactive, hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving
