Primary Teaching Assistant Location: Croydon, South London
Start Date: January 2026
Pay: £95 - £115 per day
Veritas Education is pleased to be supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in Croydon in their search for a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.
This OFSTED-rated ’Good’ school is recognised for its nurturing environment and strong commitment to supporting pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and build positive relationships within the classroom.
This position is well suited to a patient, proactive, and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting children, including those with additional needs, in a supportive primary school setting.
The Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have: * Proven experience supporting children in a primary school setting - essential
* Understanding of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
* A calm, caring, and resilient approach when working with pupils with additional needs
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Main Responsibilities Include: * Delivering tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions
* Supporting the class teacher with differentiated classroom activities
* Promoting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Using creative and engaging strategies to support learning
* Monitoring pupil progress and sharing feedback with the class teacher and SENCO
* Helping to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
