Our Client are hiring a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work across a large, well-structured site in York. With a team of engineers on-site and access to progression and training opportunities, this is an ideal role for engineers with a strong background in heavy industry, FMCG, or food production.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and equipment
* Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, completing effective fault finding and repairs
* Work on both mechanical and electrical systems (mechanical or electrical bias considered)
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and food hygiene standards
* Provide on-call cover as required
Experience, Skills & Qualifications * Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
(NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing
* Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Experience with PLCs, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and automated systems is advantageous
* Flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Background * Food or FMCG manufacturing experience is essential
