Job Description:
Experienced Paralegal (Luxury Retail/Corporate)
*Location: Canary Wharf, London
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a highly experienced, proactive and detail-oriented legal executive to support our Legal Counsel in managing day-to-day legal operations within a commercial and customer-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their legal career, ensuring compliance across retail activities and assisting with a variety of legal matters.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist with drafting, reviewing, and managing commercial contracts such as supplier agreements, NDAs, and leases.
*Handle legal queries from internal stakeholders and support compliance with consumer protection, data privacy (GDPR), and employment law.
*Maintain and update legal databases, contract registers, and filing systems.
*Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or briefing notes.
*Liaise with internal departments to support legal queries.
*Manage legal documentation for store openings, closures, and refurbishments.
*Assist with the preparation of board materials, statutory filings, and correspondence with external legal firms or authorities.
*Monitor changes in legislation relevant to the company’s operations.
*Implement and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and directives.
*Support the Legal Counsel in preparing for audits, disputes, or litigation.
*Manage legal invoicing and budget tracking.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Law degree (LLB) required.
*Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a corporate or in-house legal environment.
*You will manage complex contracts, regulatory compliance, and high-value commercial matters with minimal supervision.
*Experience in luxury retail, FMCG, or multinational corporate environments preferred.
*Familiarity with UK employment law, intellectual property law, consumer protection law, competition law, data protection laws (including GDPR), and various compliance issues.
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
*A proactive, collaborative, and commercially aware mindset.
