Job Description:
Qualified SEND Teacher | Brentwood
Pay Scale: £140 - £200 per day
Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate / Next Term
Are you an ambitious and empathetic educator looking to join a high-performing SEND team?
We are seeking a Qualified Teacher (QTS) to support students with diverse learning needs in the vibrant town of Brentwood. This is a chance to join a school that values innovation, creativity, and the holistic development of every pupil.
Working within a specialist school or a dedicated SEND hub, you will lead a classroom of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASD), or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). In Brentwood, our schools emphasise a "therapeutic" approach to learning, blending academic goals with emotional regulation and life-skills training.
Key Responsibilities
*Individualised Learning: Plan and deliver lessons that are highly visual and kinesthetic, catering to students who may be working significantly below age-related expectations.
*Behaviour for Learning: Implement positive behaviour strategies that empower students to manage their own emotions and engage with their peers.
*Strategic Leadership: Manage a classroom team of LSAs and TAs, ensuring that 1:1 support is targeted and effective.
*Collaborative Care: Liaise with the SENCO, external therapists, and families to ensure that every student’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is a living document that drives their success.
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential (ECTs with strong SEND placement experience are welcome to apply).
*Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
*Proficiency in using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Visual Timetables) is highly desirable.
*A resilient nature and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
Closing Statement
In Brentwood, we don’t just teach subjects; we teach children how to navigate the world with confidence. If you are a teacher who finds joy in the "lightbulb moments"-no matter how long they take to arrive-we want to hear from you. Join us in Brentwood and be the educator who makes a lasting impact on a child’s journey.
Apply Today: Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience in specialised education.
