The role We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established Group finance team, supporting the business through effective, accurate and commercially minded credit control.
This role plays a key part in managing customer relationships, protecting cash flow and supporting order release acting as a trusted interface between the business and its customers. You’ll manage your own ledger, work closely with internal stakeholders, and take real ownership of outcomes.

What you’ll be responsible for * Managing outstanding sales balances through proactive customer contact and relationship building
* Ensuring timely payments and negotiating repayment plans where required
* Authorising orders in line with credit limits and risk appetite
* Reviewing new customer applications, assessing creditworthiness and setting limits and terms
* Monitoring and reviewing credit limits in line with credit agencies and insurers
* Reconciling customer accounts and accurately allocating payments
* Managing overdue accounts through structured collection processes, escalating where necessary
* Handling dispute management end-to-end with a "right first time" approach
* Working to agreed monthly cash collection targets and reconciling daily cash
* Keeping knowledge of best practice and business performance up to date
What we’re looking for * Proven experience in a Credit Control role
* Comfortable managing your own ledger and prioritising workload
* Experience with self-billing and high-volume transactions
* Confident making a high volume of calls and working to deadlines
* Strong dispute resolution skills with a commercial, solutions-focused mindset
* Numerate, with the ability to understand and explain financial information clearly
* Strong Excel skills (advanced reporting capability an advantage)
* ICM qualification or studying towards preferred, but not essential
