Job Description:
Patient and Donor Engagement Specialist
*Annual Salary: £36,000 - £42,000
*Location: UK (National travel required)
*Job Type: Full-time
Join our dedicated team, where we strive to find matching stem cell donors for patients and support them through their transplant journey. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining relationships with patients, their families, and engaging the community in donor registration events. Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, supporting them from the initial enquiry through to post-transplant.
*Organise and manage patient-related donor registration events, collaborating with various departments to maximise event awareness and support.
*Lead and attend donor registration events across the UK, often requiring travel during weekends or evenings.
*Deliver presentations and run training sessions on stem cell and bone marrow donation to educate volunteers and the public.
*Manage your own events and external stakeholder relationships effectively.
*Contribute towards donor recruitment KPIs and fundraising targets, enhancing both online and offline registration activities.
*Maintain accurate records of contacts, patients, and event activities using our Salesforce database.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Higher education degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a relevant position.
*Experience working with vulnerable individuals and managing sensitive situations effectively.
*Proven communication skills across various platforms to achieve key organisational objectives.
*Full UK driving licence is essential.
*Proficient in IT and administrative tasks, including Microsoft Office and database management.
*Empathetic, with excellent organisational and project management skills.
*Ability to work under pressure, adapt to new situations, and handle challenging conversations.
Desirable but Not Essential:
*Background in counselling/psychology.
*Knowledge of blood cancer and blood disorders.
*Experience in the health sector and using Salesforce.
