Job Description:
Our client is a well-established, family-owned construction business based in Dagenham. Due to an ongoing business restructure, they are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.
This is a fully office-based role and offers genuine long-term progression opportunities for the right individual as the finance function continues to develop and evolve.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
*Responsibility for supporting statutory reporting and supporting year-end accounts
*Cashflow analysis, forecasting, and ongoing working capital management
*Preparation and submission of VAT returns
*Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
*Supervision of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
*Close collaboration with commercial and trading teams to support business performance and decision-making
*Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support senior management during the restructure period
Skills & Experience Required
*ACCA / CIMA / ACA part qualified/finalist
*Strong Excel skills (advanced level)
*Proven experience in a senior finance or management accounting role within an SME environment
*Previous experience within construction or a similar project-based business would be advantageous
*Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
