Travel/Medical Claims Assessor
Salary: £28k - £30k DOE + great company benefits
Location: Haywards Heath
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am – 17.30pm
(Hybrid working available after successful completion of a 6-month probation: 1 day remote / 4 days office-based)

Are you an experienced Travel and Medical (PMI) Claims Assessor looking to join a well-respected and reputable insurance organisation that offers a friendly, supportive and professional working environment?
This is a customer-focused role responsible for assessing, validating and managing travel and medical insurance claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring fair outcomes and excellent service throughout the claims journey.
Responsibilities:
*Assess and validate travel and medical insurance claims within agreed service levels and authority limits.
*Review policy documentation to confirm eligibility, coverage and applicable exclusions.
*Liaise professionally with policyholders, third parties and internal departments via phone and email.
*Obtain, review and analyse supporting evidence including medical reports, police statements, receipts and travel itineraries.
*Make accurate and fair claim decisions in line with policy terms, procedures and FCA guidelines.
*Maintain detailed and accurate claim records using internal systems.
*Deliver a high standard of customer service, supporting claimants with empathy and clarity throughout the process.
*Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate where appropriate.
The right candidate will have the following skills and experience to apply:
*Proven experience as a Travel / Medical Claims Assessor insurance claim’s role.
*Strong understanding of travel and medical insurance policy wordings and claims processes.
*Assessed medical and travel claims from initial notification to settlement.
*Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and investigative skills.
*Confident communicator with a professional and customer-focused approach.
*Well organised, able to manage a busy caseload and meet service-level deadlines.
