Role: Product Sales Executive (Education)
Location: Colchester
Salary: £29K to £34K - OTE £48,000 pa uncapped
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our client seeking a proactive and driven Product Sales Executive (Education) to support the continued growth of their product offering within the education sector. This role focuses on generating new business, developing existing education customers, and increasing product revenue through structured outbound activity and relationship-led sales.
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, you will sell their product range into the education sector, with a strong emphasis on new business acquisition, outbound calling, and pipeline development. This is a hands-on sales role requiring confidence in cold calling, follow-ups, and opportunity conversion, alongside the ability to build long-term relationships with schools and Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs).
Key Responsibilities
*Proactively generate new product sales opportunities within the education sector through outbound calling, email, and CRM-led activity
*Manage a pipeline of product-only opportunities from first contact through to order
*Convert inbound enquiries and outbound leads into confirmed product sales
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system
*Achieve and exceed product sales revenue targets
*Promote the wider product range, identifying cross-sell opportunities
*Build strong relationships with decision-makers including Headteachers, School Business Managers, Trust procurement teams, and Facilities Management companies
*Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction
*Provide insight and feedback to Marketing on sector trends, campaign effectiveness, and emerging opportunities
*Deliver weekly reporting on calls, opportunities, pipeline value, and sales performance
*Attend exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events to confidently promote products
*Support meetings with larger customers when required.
Key Challenges
*Operating effectively in a fast-moving environment while managing multiple accounts simultaneously
*Managing high-volume outbound activity while maintaining quality conversations
*Balancing new business generation with follow-up and conversion
*Selling into budget-conscious education environments with long buying cycles
Experience & Skills Required
*3–5 years’ experience in B2B sales, ideally within the education sector
*Proven experience in cold calling and outbound lead generation
*Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
*Experience using CRM systems for pipeline management and reporting
*Strong organisational and time management skills
*Confident communicator with excellent negotiation skills
*Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
