Job Description:
IT Technical Operations Manager - Service & Environment Management - Farnborough, Hampshire (2 days per week on site) - £450-£500 per day inside IR35
I am working with an exclusive client within Financial Services who are looking for a IT Technical Operations Manager who will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and improving business and IT service processes across the organization. The role bridges business operations and IT service management, ensuring services are designed, transitioned, operated, and continually improved in line with ITIL practices. A core focus is on environment management, particularly in Windows-based infrastructures, supporting controlled deployments, environment readiness, and operational stability.
Key Accountabilities
Requirements & Process Analysis
Capture and document business and service management requirements (SLAs, OLAs, KPIs).
Map current vs. target processes for Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfilment, and environment readiness.
ITIL Process Design & Improvement
Design and optimize ITIL-aligned workflows for service operations and environment management.
Drive continual improvement initiatives based on operational metrics and audit findings.
Environment Management
Define and maintain environment strategies (Dev, Test, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod) for Windows-based systems.
Ensure environment readiness for releases, including patching, capacity, and access controls.
Coordinate environment refreshes, data masking, and rollback plans.
Service Catalog & SLAs
Maintain service definitions and underpinning SLAs/OLAs for environment provisioning and support.
Change Enablement
Support CAB preparation, impact analysis, and risk assessment for environment-related changes.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with Infrastructure, Operations, and Application teams to ensure environment stability.
Communicate technical topics clearly to business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Deployment to On Prem
Experience with the problem management piece
Fixing and troubleshooting place/problem change management
Strong technical skills - Hands on work rather than passing it on
