Job Description:
A well-established and growing power solutions business is seeking an electrically biased Generator Engineer to join its engineering team, supporting generator and standby power installations across the UK. This role would suit an engineer with a strong electrical background in generators, power generation, or critical power systems, including those looking to further specialise in complex installations and commissioning work.
This is a field-based position with a strong focus on generator installations, electrical works, commissioning support, and technical delivery, backed by an experienced and supportive engineering team.
Responsibilities: *Carry out electrical installation, commissioning support, and integration of generator systems on customer sites
*Work on generator and power system installations including control panels, switchgear, ATS, and load bank connections
*Support planned installation projects as well as fault-finding and rectification when required
*Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
*Produce clear and accurate installation and commissioning documentation
*Liaise with project managers, site teams, and customers to ensure smooth project delivery
*Support testing, handover, and client sign-off activities
*Maintain high health & safety standards, including completion of RAMS and site documentation
*Act as a professional representative of the business on customer sites
Requirements: *Background as a Generator Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Power Engineer, or similar
*Strong electrical bias with hands-on experience in generator installations
*Good understanding of control systems, switchgear, ATS, and generator synchronisation (training provided where needed)
*Ability to read and work from electrical drawings and schematics
*Experience working on diesel and/or gas generator systems
*Comfortable working independently on site while communicating effectively with office-based teams
*Full UK driving licence
*Willingness to travel to customer sites and occasionally stay away from home
