Vehicle Technician – Job SpecificationJob PurposeTo carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair work to a high standard, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and returned to customers on time and to manufacturer and company standards.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on cars and/or light commercial vehicles
*Diagnose vehicle faults using manufacturer and diagnostic equipment
*Complete mechanical and electrical repairs efficiently and accurately
*Carry out MOT preparation work (and MOT testing if qualified)
*Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer standards and warranty guidelines
*Accurately complete job cards, reports and service documentation
*Identify additional work required and communicate findings clearly to the Service Advisor / Workshop Controller
*Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
*Adhere to health & safety regulations at all times
*Keep technical knowledge up to date through training and manufacturer updates
Skills & Experience Required*NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
*Proven experience working as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
*Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*High attention to detail and quality of workmanship
*Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
*Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)*MOT Tester qualification
*Main dealer or manufacturer-trained background
*Hybrid / EV training and experience
*Brand accreditation
